News from AAP Party - Raghav Chadha is not Rajya Sabha deputy leader now
Raghav Chadha is no more Rajya Sabha deputy leader from the party AAP. Even directs the House to reject his speaking time in the middle of internal changes.
The Aam Aadmi Party removes Raghav Chadha from the post of Rajya Sabha Deputy Leader, marking a significant shift in the party’s parliamentary leadership.

As per the source of news agency PTI, the Aam Aadmi Party has written to the Rajya Sabha Secretariat, looking for the Deputy Leader's removal. It is about the removal of Raghav Chadha from the post of deputy leader of the party in the Upper House.
In its communication, the party also asked that Raghav Chadha not be given Parliamentary speaking time from AAP’s Rajya Sabha quota. It is signalling a big shift in its parliamentary strategy. The name of Ashok Mittal has been proposed by the party as the new deputy leader in the Upper House. The party also urged the secretariat to formalise the appointment at the earliest.
At present, AAP party has 10 members in the Rajya Sabha. There are seven from Punjab state and three from Delhi.
Raghav Chadha is at present Rajya Sabha MP from Punjab. It is part of the Aam Aadmi Party since its beginning. He started his career working with Arvind Kejriwal on the Delhi Lokpal Bill in 2012.
He rose fast within the party. Within few months, he turned a national spokesperson and later its youngest treasurer after AAP’s 2015 Delhi poll win.
He contested the 2019 Lok Sabha elections from South Delhi and lost the elections. However, he lost to Ramesh Bidhuri before winning the 2020 Delhi Assembly polls.
The decision comes in the middle of the rumours of a rift in the middle of the Chadha and the party management. It is driven by the absence from key party events and silence on new, high-profile political developments includes the leadership of AAP. Earlier, he was excluded from the party’s list of star campaigners for the forthcoming Assembly elections.
